Sophie Lo, Director of Clinique La Cherche is a pioneer in the private practice of clinical psychology in the city of Tainan, Taiwan, who opens Tainan's first private psychology clinic, Clinique La Cherche, in March 2008. With a background as a senior clinical psychologist in Mackay Memorial Hospital, one of the leading Christian hospital in the area of mental health in Taiwan, Director Lo's primary interests involve developing and improving treatment guidelines for clients with behavioral problems, depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, parenting issues, attachment problem, and maltreatment.

However, Director Lo's practice was not limited to mental health institutes or private clinic. Over the past several years, she worked with many social-welfare groups to help with abused and neglected children and their families. She also has consulted to various local elementary schools, as well as city mental health system, on issues related to quality improvement and clinical guidelines in mental health services. In short, as her promise to serve the community, Director Lo continues to focus her clinical work outside Clinique La Cherche on the treatment of mood disorders in children, adolescents, and their families from underserved communities, including low-income families, abused women, foreign brides etc.

Prior to her private practice in southern Taiwan, Director Lo had earned precious experience in north Taiwan as an affiliated clinical psychologist to Dr. Bear's Family Clinic in Tien-Mu, Taipei, a renowned multi-national, multi-culture community in Taiwan. Her clients there including western expatriates and their families in Taiwan, local celebrates etc. In the future, with the potential opportuniy to become the clinical psychologist for Taiwanese baseball players in the US, Director Lo is confident that she can provide high-quality professional help with her nearly-20 year experience as a clinical psychologist, teacher, lecturer, and community activist for multi-cultural patients from all-ages.
